Event Production Manager

As an Event Production Manager, you will play a crucial role in the planning, coordination, and execution of one of our upcoming flagship projects. You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of event delivery, ensuring that the event runs smoothly, on time, and within budget. This role requires a highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive individual with a passion for delivering exceptional experiences.

 

Location: Edinburgh, UK (requires travel within the UK)

Contract Type: Temporary – 6 months (with the potential for extension)

Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 (pro rata)

Key Responsibilities

Project Management

  1. Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, budgets, resource allocation, and risk management.

  2. Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors to ensure all project milestones are met.

  3. Monitor project progress, identify potential issues, and implement solutions to keep projects on track.

Event Planning and Execution

  1. Assist with the logistics, production, and on-site management of events.

  2. Liaise with local authorities, suppliers, and other stakeholders to secure necessary licences, services, and resources.

  3. Ensure that all health and safety regulations are adhered to throughout the planning and execution phases.

Team Coordination

  1. Recruit, lead and motivate a diverse team of event staff and contractors to deliver a high-quality event.

  2. Conduct regular meetings to ensure clear communication and coordination among all team members.

  3. Provide training and support to event staff as required.

Budget Management

  1. Manage event budgets, ensuring all expenses are tracked and projects are delivered within budget.

  2. Negotiate contracts with suppliers and vendors to secure the best possible rates.

  3. Prepare financial reports and provide regular updates to senior management.

Client and Stakeholder Management

Build and maintain strong relationships with all stakeholders, including sponsors, partners, and local community groups.

 

 

Qualifications and Experience

Essential

  1. A minimum of 5 years of experience in event production management, with a successful track record of delivering large-scale events.

  2. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and team members.

  3. Proficiency in project management software and tools.

  4. Knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices in event management.

  5. Must be able to start the role in September 2024 with a full-time commitment from the end of September 2024.

Desirable

  1. To hold a health and safety qualification e.g. IOSH Managing Safely or Nebosh General Certificate.

  2. Experience working with local authorities and managing license applications.

  3. Management of on-site event teams.
